Should you be doing it?
Email marketing may seem like it is from the stone age, but it is still an effective way of marketing to your customers. It has a better retention rate, makes money, has a better reach, and is easy to do. Want to learn more about it? You are in the right place.
Email converts better and retains your customers.
Email can achieve higher conversion rates than any other channel out there, including social media. Your properly maintained email list can become one of your most valuable tools in your marketing toolbox. It also has a better retention rate. “A 5% increase in retention yields profit increases of 25 to 100 percent. Repeat customers spend, on average, 67 percent more than new customers.” Source: Bain and Company. This statement means that if you use email effectively to foster and maintain relationships the lifetime value of a customer will increase. This can have a massive impact on your bottom line especially if you have a high customer acquisition cost.
It makes money.
“For every $1 spent, $38 is the average return on email marketing investment” Source: Salesforce. This statement means that email makes you money if you are doing it correctly. You will have to invest time to learn your customers and how to reach and market to them. If you just create a random email campaign, it won’t make near as much money as an email campaign for your customer.
It has a better reach.
“95% of online consumers use email” and “91% of consumers reported checking their email at least once a day” Source: Exact Target. Compared to Facebook which only 74% of adults say they use Facebook at least once a day. Email is definitely a better option than Facebook when it comes to actually reaching your customers. To top it off, email is still growing! “The total number of worldwide email accounts is expected to increase from nearly 3.9 billion accounts in 2013 to over 4.9 billion accounts by the end of 2017. This represents an average annual growth rate of about 6% over the next four years” Source: Radicati.com. Investing in email marketing now will pay dividends, especially if you adapt as your users adapt.
