What is WordPress?

In my opinion, WordPress is the easiest and most powerful blogging and content management system (CMS) in existence today. It is an online, open source website creation tool. It uses PHP, MySQL, HTML, and CSS to tell your browser what to display. Along with being very easy to use, you can install plugins to add functionality and themes to create a website that has what you want, where you want.

Why should I use WordPress?

WordPress is Open Source.

Since it is an open source project meaning it is a completely free tool. Open source also means that there are thousands of people all around the world working to improve it and make it easier to use

WordPress is customizable.

Second, it is easy to find help if you want to add customizations to your website. Most all web developers know the languages used in it. If you don’t want to hire a designer, there are many tutorials available online to help you figure it out yourself. You can also add plugins to add functionality that surpasses its primary features. For example, WooCommerce is the most popular plugin for eCommerce websites.

You control your content.

A lot of CMS programs limit what you can and cannot post. With WordPress, you don’t have to worry about that. You can import your content from Blogger, Tumblr, and other CMS programs or you can export it and move to a different program if you chose.
